At Pitti Uomo 83 Bagutta, the famous shirt brand of Cit Group, showed not only its new collection but also presented their new and exceptional creative director: Angelo Figus. Born in Sardinia, this thirty-seven year old designer was the first italian to graduate from Antwerp’s Royal Academy of Fine Arts and is today more than capable of bringing inspiration and innovation to fashion.

Bagutta‘s new creative director has a great experience in high fashion, not only in Paris, but also alongside artists of contemporary art, including Jannis Counellis. He has also been a creative consultant for Pitti Immagine for several years now and so, all summed up this is why everybody has high expectations of him as the creative director of this authentic italian shirt company.

Angelo Figus has a strong point of view and as Bagutta’s creative director he did a total makeover with the men’s shirt line, leaving a long lasting impression at the exciting introduction of the new collection, that took place at the Fortezza da Basso earlier this year. Bagutta Fall/Winter 2013-14 collection represents totally the athmosphere of our time, romantic but surreal, sensual and abstract at the same time. A modern and dynamic vision of romance that draws inspiration not only from the current trends, but also from poetry, art and architecture. These influences transform the style of a classic men’s shirt into a design object, that can bring up emotions and give value to its wearer.

Even though shirts are Bagutta collections’ center of attention, the artistic inspiration of Angelo Figus, brought other new things too: accessories, such as ties, purses and scarves, made with same fabrics as the shirts, in addition to a women’s collection, that will surely create an identity of its own, although always in harmony with Bagutta’s classic men’s shirt line.
